          This rice is great, if you are tired of the same old plain with rice. I tried making it with coconut milk like the box suggested and it turned out pretty creamy. Very easy to make in the microwave.

          A Taste of Thai has become increasingly my favorite brand for pastes and mixes. Their Red Curry paste is thick with a rich, robust flavor. Excellent in curries, it is also great as a marinade for grilled chicken or beef. I've also used it in a blend with soy sauce, Lee Kum Kee's premium oyster sauce, and lime juice for fried noodles. Depending on your palate, you may find the level of spice mild or a touch spicy. Being Asian, I find it on the mild side. A few American friends who have tried my curries and fried noodles made with this paste have declared the spice has just the right amount of zing. Your mileage may vary.

Make no mistake... this is a pre-packaged, instant convenience food. That said, it's quite good for what it is. Also easy to make: add water, microwave one minute on high, stir, microwave 4 minutes on low. I prefer that method to the microwave 2 minutes, let stand 10 minutes directions of many other Dr McDougall's soups. Unfortunately, my microwave doesn't have a high or low setting so it was just a little dry by the end of the last 4 minutes. I'd probably do 2 or 3 minutes for the second microwaving and see how that goes next time.

I also think the packaging is a little misleading. It looks similar to the packaging of products like Annie Chun's Udon Soup Noodle Bowl in which you have more of a bowl or meal tray that contains noodles and flavor or sauce packets. It is in fact a soup cup to which you add water and flavor powder. I assumed the higher price (vs regular Dr McDougall's soup cups) and the description of 'Entree' meant it would be more like the former, with actual noodles and sauce. The noodles are much more like ramen noodles.

That aside, the flavor is good and I'll continue to eat them now and then, when I'm too tired or busy to cook something, but will probably not reorder.

          Recently I was forced to be on a gluten and dairy free diet for a few months. I have two young children and I'm busy and finding quick, relatively tasty and easy gluten and dairy free options is tough. I LOVE Thai food but never harbored any false notions that this would taste remotely authentic (when was the last time you tasted something out of a package that tasted authentic - or even remotely good, for that matter)? Also, I tend to stick with whole foods and avoid packaged/processed foods (no matter how healthy) as much as possible. Anyway, I was surprised that I enjoyed this. (I still eat them and I'm off the restricted diet.) Salty, yes (but I love salty foods). And you have to have a microwave that can adjust it's power to 20% (most do these days). And they talk about the noodles "fluffing up" which mine never did. Lastly, it isn't cheap and it is definitely a small meal. But, at the end of the day, it's a tasty option for those who can't have gluten or dairy products. (It's actually vegan, too!)

I love the McDougall Asian Entrées and although I haven't tried all of them this one is amazing. It has a really peanutty flavor that you wouldn't expect in a product containing only 3 grams of fat per serving. I would imagine these would make a great dinner added to a pound of mixed stir-fry vegetables...I am buying a case now to test just that! The peanut flavor is strong enough that I bet it'd distribute among a fair amount of vegetables or tofu when added so you wouldn't get very saucy noodles and dry veggies.

I recommend this product. The best-tasting peanut noodle you'll be able to find for only 3 grams of fat.

Got these just for those times when total laziness overtakes the hungry man. Doesn't taste much like PT but does taste good, especially with a pinch of cayenne added. Recently in our month of 100-degree days (nice "Spring"!), I've been making this, then putting it into the freezer for 20 minutes or so. Nice cold noodle soup!

The key to all of these add boiling water things is to use your own china cup/mug, and then cover it with a plate for ten minutes. Makes everything taste muuuch better than wax paper, count on it! And make sure to mix it very well at the start, then cover.

I would like to see more organic ingredients in this, but all in all, a very handy and quick snack with some nutritional value, and no animules harmed in the making thereof. Our dog likes that...but then she thinks all animals deserve respect and love. Crazy creature, right?
