           First I soak the rice noodles in hot water. I then cook sliced, boneless chicken and a few large shrimp in wok on high heat - take them out. Add a bit more oil to the wok and add garlic, sliced onion and julienne carrots. Quickly stir fry on high and make a well in the center and add 4 eggs, stir until cooked. Then add the soaked noodles and meats back to the pan and add the sauce packet - I also add a splash of fish sauce. Heat through and add sliced Napa cabbage and bean sprouts and stir. Finish off with diced green (spring) onions.

I can't speak for this product's authenticity as a piece of Thai cuisine, but I do enjoy it very much. The soup is made up of rice noodles, a powdered flavor packet with little green onions in it, a little cute packet of dried mushrooms, and a small clear packet of oil.

When cooked, it's flavorful without being overwhelming and the mushrooms add a nice variation in texture. It's really tasty for the price (though I think it's slightly cheaper at my local grocery store) and it's very quick and easy to make. Salt content isn't exactly low and you do add a little oil for flavor, but you can cut those things out or limit them pretty easily during preparation.

I've had this several times and at least once I added some sliced mushrooms from a jar during cooking. Made it even better!

They make a red and a green chili (unroasted) paste, but I've never liked them and found them much too hot. Unfortunately my local health food store only carries the ones I don't like, so I ordered a case of these from Amazon. One jar was leaking some oil, but unbroken. The rest of the jars were fine.

I realize that vendor reviews are in a separate area, but when dealing with perishable items such as this, the vendor DOES make a difference as to the quality of the item, and therefore also to the review of the item itself. I was skeptical about ordering produce in this fashion, but the other positive reviews and my desire for the ingredients won out. I'm so glad I took the chance! :)

My order arrived two days before the earliest delivery estimate. In the high-90s heat we've been having right now, that makes a big difference, as did the fact that it was very well packed and obviously very fresh produce to begin with. The items were of excellent quality and generous portions. I can make an insane amount of Tom Yum soup now and have enough left over to throw together some other delicious dishes.

Thai Green Red Yellow Curry Pastes Set Review

I have been using this brand of curry paste for decades. I usually picked them up at Korean or Chinese markets and at a really good price. I found them to be incredibly useful for a wide variety of dishes. A really quick meal could be made by mixing the paste with coconut milk over low heat. I could then add it to cubed browned beef, chicken, tofu or shelled shrimp, diced potatoes, tomatoes, onions, garlic or a myriad of other ingredients. When served over Jasmine or Basmati rice I would have tasty meal for my family in less than 30 minutes. The curry pastes can also be used for more complex stews and curries or even as a rub for a roast (I like to mix the green curry with a little grainy mustard and rub it on a chuck roast.)

About 3 or 4 years ago this product (and the others in this line) started to get harder to find. I have heard this same complaint from friends of mine across the county. I could purchase something similar, but not the curry paste that I was used to. I am so happy to have found this product on Amazon. The price is just a little more than I found at the ethnic markets, but not very much. I will buying this here on a regular basis from now on.

          I did not purchase this product off of Amazon. I purchased the 12 oz. bottle at a local store, and I must say it's one of the most addicting sauces I have ever had! I'm a pretty picky eater, and a vegetarian at that, so sauces play a key role in making an average meal a great one. This sauce is ALMOST perfect. It's very sweet, and has a strong garlic taste at first. It isn't as thick as the Red Hot brand, which I didn't like much at all (thick, not as flavorful, way too chunky). This sauce would be appropriate for children who like a little kick for their chicken nuggets and what not. My son loves spicy food just like his mommy.
          Another plus is there are only 70 calories in 2 tablespoons, and that much sauce goes a long way. 1 gram of fiber, too! The only thing I have a hard time with, and this is just a personal issue, is the texture of the red chilli. They tastes great, but they have a very thin, clear "skin" that has this horrible crunchy texture on some of the pieces. Not all, just some. I get it stuck in my mouth and on my teeth and it hits a nerve that makes me feel a bit queasy. Still, I eat it anyway lol and will continue to do so because this is one of the best sauces I have EVER tasted! I would recommend anyone to try this sauce first, and then try others if you are not fully satisfied. This sauce is amazing. It was about $1.50 at the store for 12 oz. but if you like the easiness of ordering online or can't find it near you, know that I would pay Amazon's price for it any day! Buy this sauce. I don't care where or how, just buy it. You'll fall in love!

          We love to get Masaman curry at our local Thai restaurant, but I haven't been able to find a paste that actually tastes like it. This paste does, and is very easy to prepare. Just add some coconut milk and heat - add your protein and veggies of choice, done! I have now bought some of the other Mae Ploy products, and found them all very good quality with authentic flavors.

          This is an excellent curry paste. My only gripe is that the bag it comes in is sort of awkward to measure the paste from. So I snipped the corner off of the bag and squeezed it out, which worked well but now it's awkward to store. Anyway, the flavor is really great. It's spicier than the panang curries we've had in restaurants but we're going to use some coconut cream to cool it down a little bit. Will buy again.
